Our priority is you.

Miriam Mulkewich and Lesley Hughes opened Fit For Life Physiotherapy in 2009 to give people the skills and knowledge to improve their physical abilities and get the most out of life. Treatment happens in a private room, not a shared floor, and every appointment is one on one with your physiotherapist. Massage therapy, osteopathy, kinesiology and nutrition sit under the same roof, so the people helping you can work together.

What we do.

A multi-disciplinary team in Aldershot treating pain, injury and the health conditions that limit what you can do. Physiotherapy leads, and the rest of the team is here when your recovery needs more than one pair of hands.

Getting started

Less to sort out first.

No referral needed

You do not need a doctor's note to see a physiotherapist here. If you have extended health benefits your provider may ask for one, so it is worth checking with them before your first visit.

Book a visit

Direct billing

Our administrative team helps you work out which services you need and, where it is possible, sets up direct billing with your extended health plan so you are not out of pocket.

Book a visit

WSIB and car accidents

If your claim is through WSIB or a motor vehicle accident insurer, the front desk will navigate the paperwork with you and take the stress out of the process.

Evenings and Saturdays

We are open until 8pm Monday to Thursday, from 7:30am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and on Saturday morning, so treatment can fit around work.

Who we are

The people you will see.

In 2009, after meeting at a course about osteoporosis, Miriam Mulkewich and Lesley Hughes came together to provide physiotherapy to the Aldershot community. They set out to work with people of all ages dealing with pain, injury and health conditions such as cardiac disease, diabetes and osteoporosis. Since then the team has grown to include physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, osteopathic manual practitioners, a kinesiologist, registered dietitians and a psychotherapist.

Testimonials

Rated 5.0 on Google.

A few of the 407 Google reviews, in the patients' own words. Two were cut back to their last complete sentence for length.

Natalie is a wonderfully patient caring physio. She took care to assess my problems and provided suggestions on how to improve my balance and gait. She used laser treatment on my heel which gave great relief. I found this clinic very easy to deal with. The office staff were very pleasant also.

I had a great experience with Fit For Life Physiotherapy. Everything was very quick and efficient, and the whole process went very smoothly. Natalie was excellent in assessing my daughter and completing the ADP paperwork right away. After that, we were able to go to the vendor and receive the walker without any delays, which made everything stress-free.

Great experience with Leslie Hughes for osteoporosis physio assessment and exercise programming. Leslie is very knowledgeable; she spent time doing a thorough assessment and took into account what I hoped to achieve…all in a non intimidating, warm and fun environment.

Your first visit

What the first session looks like.

Your first appointment is an assessment, and as long as it is appropriate it includes treatment on the day, so you get something out of the visit straight away.

  1. History and what is bothering you

Your physiotherapist takes a detailed health history and asks a lot of questions, so they understand your circumstances and what you are trying to get back to.

  2. Tests, and be ready to move

They then run tests to assess how you are moving and to understand what is happening in your body. Wear clothing suited to the area being treated.

  3. A plan, and a little homework

You leave with a treatment plan and often some exercises. We provide videos, pictures and written instructions so you can do them properly at home.
